So, Prakash along with his family arrived.
My parents asked me to stay inside and come out with the tea and snacks when they would call me.
I did not like this but still had to do because as much as I hate this stupidity, I still love my parents. In sometime my mom came and asked me to carry the plate with 5 cups of tea for everyone except me. I was so nervous that I dropped a cup of tea in front of them, can you believe it?! I felt like someone shoot me right in the middle of my heart and I needed oxygen cylinder to breathe as I felt my oxygen level went down, hahahhahaha.
Prakash’s mom said, “koi bat nai beta, mere se toh avi v nai smbhalta, jabki mai homemaker hu.”
meaning “Don’t worry, I being a homemaker could not manage even now!”.
I was relieved, but embarrassed. They asked me where do I work, what is my experience, do I want to study more and my hobbies and many more irrelevant questions as if they would offer me a job, but ironically yes they were interviewing me to offer me the job of their daughter in law.
Now the turn came where they sent me and Prakash to talk. Both of us went to the garden to talk, a typical Indian scene.
Prakash asked so , why arrange marriage ? you are beautiful did any stupid ditch you ?
I said “never felt like making one or you can say did not find a perfect match yet.”
he was like “umm hard to believe”
I asked how about you? He said “tm nai mili na isiliye single tha” means “I did not meet you that is why I was single”
I was like “Too cheesy!!! Won’t work with me, seems you were a playboy.”
He laughed and said “No, I am not. As I was not looking this good when I was in high school or college. I just started taking care of my body a year back, dint you stalk me in Facebook?”
I was like “hmm... convinced !!”
He asked “Btw shadi ka kya irada hai, mere se pahele kitne mil chuki ho and mere bad kitno ko milne ka plan hai?” (Btw, what is you plan for getting married, how many have you met before me and how many you are yet to meet ?)
I said “kafi straight forward question hai !!” (too straight forward question)
He said, “let us be realistic, I am going to see another girl today”.
I said “Aur honest v ho” (and you are honest too). Anyway it is nice to speak with you, shall we go or you need to ask more ?
We will answer you by evening if yes or no for our side, You should keep a backup if in case the answer is no.
He said, “You are quite confident that our answer is yes.” To that I answered, “I was good at studying psychology of a person.”
He said, “I am impressed”.
I said “I know !!! and save your cheesy and flirty words for the imaginary girl you are going to meet.”
He immediately said “How did you know ?”
I said “I did not know, I just bluffed, but now I do.”
He said, “you are one of a kind, I am totally impressed.”
I said, “Don’t fall for me, I am that kind of a girl who would make other’s heart flutter and still would have no mercy when the heart would break.”
He said to that “Don’t worry, I am not that kind of a boy who would let anyone break my heart, It was safe since ever and I would only allow the one whom I would love and I don’t believe in love at first sight or first meeting. But I know something good is going to happen and this is not our last meeting.”
I was like “good luck then !!”
We went inside and both side’s parents greeted each other goodbye.
